Laces Take Manchester

Back in February in the depths of Lockdown 3.0, we got a pretty exciting email. Helen, ex South London Lace, was interested in setting up a club in Manchester having relocated there in 2018. Like we always say - once a Lace, always a Lace! There just wasn’t a club like it in Manchester - inclusive, friendly, and above all else fun. Three months since launch, they’ve delivered more than thirty sessions to over 150 women and non-binary people - half of which had NEVER played football before. Wild right?!

Last week we finally got the chance to visit Manchester Laces, along with our sister clubs South London Laces and Limehouse Laces. We had such a great time meeting our Northern sisters, hearing their stories and seeing how much Laces means to them already. Helen and the leadership team have created a space for everyone to feel themselves. A club that cares about your personal development, whether you are a complete newbie or a veteran. All in such a short space of time.

We also got to personally unveil their new kit, designed by Nomad - who once again proved they are the best sponsors ever. This time in yellow, as a nod to the Manchester working bee and all it represents for the city.

Congratulations to Helen and her team up in Manchester. We are beyond proud of what you have achieved so far and can’t wait to see what is to come this year and beyond. We’ve heard you’ve got big things planned 👀
